Pitzer College Residence Hall Project Featured in Interiors & Sources


Carrier Johnson + CULTURE’s Pitzer College Residence project was just featured in the Interiors & Sources publication.  “The Top 10 Beyond LEED” article focuses on sustainable projects that support human health and happiness.  The LEED Platinum project is the newest addition to the student village as a mixed-use residence hall which includes more than 40 sustainable features including a green roof, solar cells, and incorporates natural light and ventilation.

211 Connections Luncheon


On Friday, February 20th, Carrier Johnson + CULTURE Interiors attended the 211 Connections Luncheon. With 1,200 attendees, the luncheon illustrated the service 211 provides not only to San Diego County but the whole country. The program also included speaker Michael Gauldin, who shared his story of being homeless from ages seven to seventeen and the struggle he and his family endured. Mr.Gauldin, now working for Reality Changes, stressed the importance of 211’s services and the role they played in helping his family.

AIA San Diego Design Awards


Last Thursday, October 30th was the AIA San Diego Design Awards, where Carrier Johnson + CULTURE earned an award for our work on the Tidewater Community College Joint-Use Library. Located in Virginia Beach, VA, “Tidewater” is 120,000 square feet library that was completed in the fall of 2013 and achieved a LEED rating of NC Gold.

Second Win at the 2014 IIDA Haute Couture Fashion Show


On  September 25th, 2014, Carrier Johnson + Culture won the San Diego IIDA Haute Couture Fashion Show for the second year running, as well as Best Theme Interpretation. This is a yearly event hosted by IIDA at the Downtown San Diego House of Blues where designers from different firms create an outfit made based on a given theme and made from the materials manufactured and provided to them by their sponsor.

Ballpark Village project OKd


“Ten years after it opened, Petco Park would gain a 37-story, $250 million neighbor under a plan approved Wednesday by Civic San Diego.

The city agency that oversees downtown agreed unanimously to the project that could open in 2016-17 on the 3.5-acre parking lot east of the ballpark, bounded by Park Boulevard and 12th and Imperial avenues.
