The Marketing Manager plays a critical role in driving growth, enhancing brand presence, and expanding the client base. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building and nurturing client relationships, and collaborating with internal teams to develop compelling qualifications, proposals and marketing materials.
Key Responsibilities
Collaboration with Market Sector Leaders
- Partner with Market Sector Leaders to identify opportunities in their respective sectors for both private and public project pursuits.
- Leverage sector-specific knowledge and insights to target and approach potential clients effectively.
CRM Leadership
- Serve as the primary owner and administrator of the Marketing teams CRM system, Deltek Vantagepoint.
- Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the CRM database, ensuring all client and project information is up-to-date and properly categorized.
- Develop and implement strategies to leverage the CRM system for business development, including tracking client interactions, managing leads, and analyzing data to identify trends and opportunities.
- Create and distribute regular reports on CRM data to inform marketing strategies, business development efforts, and executive decision-making.
- Work closely with IT and other relevant departments to ensure seamless integration of the CRM system with other tools and platforms used by the firm.
Preliminary Go/No-Go Assessments
- Conduct preliminary Go/No-Go assessments of opportunities before elevating them to the Marketing Team.
- Evaluate potential projects based on strategic fit, resource availability, and profitability to ensure a focus on high-potential pursuits.
RFQ/RFP Development
- Oversee and manage all qualification submittals, proposals and marketing related presentations for the firm.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including architects, designers, and project managers, to develop compelling qualifications, proposals and presentations for prospective clients.
- Ensure that qualifications and proposals are tailored to each client’s specific requirements and effectively communicate the firm’s capabilities and value proposition.
Market Research
- Conduct thorough market research to identify potential clients, industry trends, and the competitive landscape.
- Utilize various resources such as industry publications, online databases, and networking events to gather relevant information.
Branding & Positioning
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the firm’s values, ethos, and expertise.
- Create and maintain a consistent brand identity across all touchpoints, including visual elements, messaging, and tone of voice.
- Position the firm as a thought leader in the industry through content marketing, thought leadership initiatives, strategic partnerships, and public relations efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of [7] years of experience in marketing, preferably in the architecture or design industry.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing strategies.
- Strong understanding of branding, positioning, and market research.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in graphic design software and tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
- Experience with content management systems, social media platforms, and SEO best practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Reporting Structure
The Marketing Manager will report to the senior member of the marketing team. They will collaborate closely with colleagues across various departments, including design, business development, and project management, to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and brand guidelines.

- CRM Leadership: Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM data; ensure frequent updates and effective utilization of CRM for tracking and managing leads.
- Reporting: Deliver timely and high-quality CRM reports with actionable insights; achieve positive executive feedback.
- Go/No-Go Assessments: Conduct accurate assessments to focus on high-potential pursuits.
- Proposal Management: Manage a significant number of qualification submittals and proposals with a strong win rate; ensure proposals are tailored to client needs.
- Collaboration: Achieve high satisfaction ratings from internal teams on collaborative efforts.
- Brand Consistency: Maintain consistent brand identity and achieve recognition as a thought leader.
- Market Research: Produce regular market research reports and effectively implement findings into strategies.

Time-Off Benefits
You will accrue vacation at a rate of 3.33 hours for each pay period, (80 hours per year, or 2 weeks) for the first 4 years. 5.00 hours for each pay period begins accruing after 4 years (120 hours per year, or 3 weeks).
In addition to your vacation accrual, you will receive eight (8) paid holidays and you will receive forty eight (48) hours sick leave per year immediately upon hire.
At Carrier Johnson + Culture we offer two regular work schedules: 8 hours/5 days per week or a 9 hours Monday thru Thursday and a 4 hour Friday. Within these hours we offer a hybrid work model of in office and remote working.
