Talent Spotlight – Conor Brown

WHAT IS YOUR MOST INSPIRED PROJECT YOU’VE WORKED ON AND WHY?

“Our Totem Lake Upper Mall project in Kirkland, WA. This is one of our largest and most complicated projects, which automatically makes it enjoyable due to its challenging aspect. It is also a project that is really re-shaping an entire neighborhood by the amount of apartments, retail, and outdoor space it is providing. It has really been an amazing experience to be a part of seeing it start from an idea on a piece of paper to seeing it in the current state of construction and impact it is already having.”

WHAT MADE YOU WANT TO PURSUE A CAREER IN YOUR AREA OF WORK?

“I have always enjoyed problem solving tasks and the ability to be creative and think outside of the box. I also really enjoy cities, urban environments, and seeing the construction process of how our cities are built. Becoming an architect seemed like a natural fit that combined all of these aspects.”

WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST PASSION?

“The built environment. Not just architecture but every other entity involved in creating our cities. My favorite thing to do when experiencing a new city is just walking the streets and neighborhoods and experiencing all aspects from the urban layout and building design to the wayfinding and pedestrian experience.”
