The Totem Lake business district is the largest district in the City of Kirkland, Washington. As part of the area’s revitalization, Carrier Johnson + CULTURE is currently providing services for the redevelopment of the Totem Lake Upper Mall originally constructed in 1973. The Upper Mall, Phase 2, will feature residential units, ground-floor retail, a movie theatre, restaurant space, residential units, and a public plaza. The 26-acre site is currently in construction and current plans include space for residential, retail, entertainment venues, and parking. The site is also planned to connect to Totem Lake transitioning the site to a walkable urban hub.

This Totem Lake Upper Mall project is part of a larger master plan that also includes The Lower Mall, Phase 1, which is slated to feature one large retail development and several adjacent standalone buildings with related parking.
