SANDAG South Bay Bus Maintenance Facility
Vision
The previous South Bay Bus Maintenance Facility, built in 1995, had limited capacity to maneuver buses and perform required fuel, service, and operational tasks. The Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) proposed to buy an adjacent parcel of land to allow the facility to expand its fleet maintenance abilities.
The project expanded the South Bay Bus Maintenance Facility into a larger and more functional bus maintenance and operations base. The 10.6-acre site features a new administration building, a new high bay bus maintenance building, renovations to an existing maintenance building, a new bus wash facility and additional bus parking.
