SDSU and Carrier Johnson + CULTURE Unveils Plans for New Stadium Site
Carrier Johnson + CULTURE prepared the Master Plan for the development of the proposed expansion of San Diego State University’s Campus at the Mission Valley Stadium site. Carrier Johnson’s strategy for the proposed project embraces “open space first,” with 75 acres of community parks and 8 acres of campus parks and green space adjacent to the San Diego River.
The project encompasses:
- 1.5 million s.f. of classroom and research buildings
- River Park and Open Space
- 4,500 Residential Units
- 95,000 s.f. of Neighborhood Retail
- 2 Hotels with a Total of 450 Guest Rooms
- 35,000-Seat Stadium
- Demolition of Existing 70,000 Seat Stadium
