4 Ways Virtual & Augmented Reality Will Revolutionize the Way We Practice Architecture

Casey Mahon, Designer and Director of the Design Technology Group here at Carrier Johnson + CULTURE, has written an article on virtual reality that has been featured on the Arch Daily website.  The use of Virtual Reality (VR) dramatically impacts the practice by removing the burden of scale in the representation of a project.Casey states that “…this approach moves drawing beyond the controlled scaler representation of space that has been utilized by architects from the Renaissance through the 20th century.  Instead, it establishes drawing as a one-to-one exercise.”  In the design process, designers and clients can better visualize each project by being able to “walk” through each space as virtualized construction.
