San Ysidro West Pedestrian Crossing

Vision

The San Ysidro West Pedestrian Crossing and Processing Center, also known as “PedWest,” was designed for the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) and U.S. Customs and
Border Protection (CBP) to increase the efficiency of pedestrian mobility between Mexico and the U.S., strengthening San Diego’s role as a border city. As part of a larger plan to improve cross-border transit efficiencies, this port has positively impacted the economic, social, and cultural ties of the San Diego-Tijuana region.
