City of Fontana

Fontana City Hall Annex

Vision

The City of Fontana is one of the fastest growing communities in the State of California. With that, comes the need to provide additional staff resources to residents. The city is undertaking a phased approach to adding office space and parking, while maintaining the small town feel that attracted many residents. This Design-Build project is developing a two-story 51,000 SF building to accommodate future office demands. The site included an existing Fire Administration Building, which had to be demolished prior to new construction. New utilities had to be coordinated for the larger footprint of the new building. The building has been designed to reduce maintenance costs and provide durable finishes that will withstand the test of time.

The building will house six departments in one building to maintain operational efficiency. These departments include:
• KFON Studios, a public service TV and radio station
• Community Services
• Human Resources
• Code Compliance
• Fire Department/ COAST
• Conference and Support

The building will also include a covered outdoor patio that will take advantage of the Southern California weather while mitigating for high wind and sun events. The building is situated near residential communities, so the scale has been limited to not over-power the single-family homes. On-site parking has been provided to limit that impact as well.
