Blue Shield Home Plate Club
The most recently renovation club at Petco Park by CJ+C was the Blue Shield Home Plate Club, which completed construction just before the 2023 season. This club is divided into an upper and lower level connected by a grand staircase and each with its own flavor. Biophilia isn’t a common influence in bars, let alone sports bars, but guests here are greeted by a large green wall of preserved moss. The upper level contains the first of two bars with original bar stools, a custom glass façade, and a brass bat bar tap. This level is bright and spacious with ample dining area and features custom leather storage cubbies, a premium fine wine display case, a private reservable room, and expansive seating options. Floor-to-ceiling custom wall coverings document recent and historic Padres action shots. Through a glass wall, members can observe Padres players as they warm up with batting practice.
A custom glass chandelier beckons members to the lower whiskey bar where members enjoy a more intimate and darker setting complete with a natural stone-cladded fireplace, mirrored surfaces and carefully placed lighting. The bar here features a custom soapstone countertop, locally sourced glass tiles, and a mirrored ceiling that gives the space a jewel-like effect. Two custom art pieces are on this level: the Padres logo made of brown and gold leather baseballs and an art screen made of vintage Padres bats. The restrooms are finished with porcelain walls sourced from Italy, custom furniture, and, of course, flat-screen TVs so no Padres action is missed. The lower-level leads guests to the stadium seating outside, where the club’s namesake is obvious – a fantastic view of the field from directly behind home plate.
Lexus Premier Club
Up on the Field Level overlooking third base is the Lexus Premier Club. This indoor-outdoor club is organized around a U-shaped bar with high-top bar seating, a dining room, plush cushioned stadium seats and outdoor dining tables. Custom decorative lighting floats above the bar to create a focal point that can be seen from the field. Wood ceiling and floor finishes with deep blue tiles along the bar face mimic the quintessential San Diego coastal landscape that people love.
Structural elements of the ballpark were exposed during the renovation of this space in which our Interior Designers integrated floating wood shelves that become the design center pieces in the Premier Club.
