Qualities and responsibilities of a Project Architect 2 with 6 to 10 years of experience
We are seeking a Project Architect who is a skilled professional who has gained significant knowledge and expertise in the field of architecture and has attained licensure.
This level of PA may work on projects of varying sizes. The projects may range from simple to complex, and a variety of construction types and occupancies. An Intermediate PA may lead a small to medium size team and coordinate the work effort with the consultant team. The Intermediate PA may also be capable of working on a project, depending on size, without additional team members, completing all tasks, working along with the PM or capable of being both the PA and PM on a project. This PA should have a strong understanding of codes, the ability to detail projects, take the project through plan check and permitting as well as the Construction Administration process, and be a strong mentor of the Junior talent.
Qualities:
Architectural Competence: Project Architects 2 should possess a strong foundation in construction techniques. They should have a good understanding of building systems, materials, and technologies, and be able to apply this knowledge to their projects.
Technical Aptitude: Project Architects 2 should have a good grasp of technical aspects related to architecture. They should be knowledgeable about building codes, regulations, and flow of documentation from schematic design to construction documents. They should also be familiar with various software tools used for architectural documentation.
Communication and Collaboration: Project Architects 2 Effective communication and collaboration skills are essential for an Project Architects 2. They should be able to communicate their ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. They should also be skilled at collaborating with project teams, clients, and consultants.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Project Architects 2 should be adept at problem-solving and critical thinking. They should have the ability to analyze complex issues, identify potential challenges, and propose practical solutions. They should also possess a proactive and resourceful approach to addressing project-related problems.
Time Management and Organization: Project Architects 2 should be able to manage their time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines. They should possess strong organizational skills and be detail-oriented in managing project documentation, deliverables, and schedules.
Responsibilities:
Project Design and Development: Project Architects 2 contributes to the design development of architectural projects. They participate in technical design discussions and propose technical design solutions that keep the design intent of the project.
Construction Document Preparation: Project Architects 2 assist in the preparation of construction documents, including detailed drawings, specifications, and schedules. They ensure accuracy, coordination, and compliance with building codes and regulations.
Project Coordination: Project Architects 2 participates in project coordination activities. They collaborate with engineers, consultants, and contractors to integrate their design solutions with other project components. They assist in coordinating project deliverables and resolving coordination issues that arise during the design and construction phases.
Client Interaction and Communication: Project Architects 2 may participate in client meetings and discussions. They contribute to understanding client needs and requirements, present technical design concepts, and provide progress updates. They assist in managing client expectations and addressing any concerns or questions.
Quality Control: Project Architects 2 plays a role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of project deliverables. They review design drawings and documentation to identify errors or inconsistencies and make necessary revisions. They may also conduct quality inspections during construction to ensure compliance with design intent.
Construction Administration Support: Project Architects 2 may assist in construction administration tasks. They respond to requests for information (RFIs), review and approve shop drawings, and conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and address any design-related issues that arise. Senior Project Architects may mentor and oversee a Job Captain conducting Construction Administration tasks.
Continued Learning and Professional Development: Project Architects 2 actively pursue continued learning and professional development opportunities. They stay updated with industry trends, attend relevant seminars or workshops, and seek opportunities to expand their knowledge and skills in the field of architecture.

Time-Off Benefits
You will accrue vacation at a rate of 3.33 hours for each pay period, (80 hours per year, or 2 weeks) for the first 4 years. 5.00 hours for each pay period begins accruing after 4 years (120 hours per year, or 3 weeks).
In addition to your vacation accrual, you will receive eight (8) paid holidays and you will receive forty eight (48) hours sick leave per year immediately upon hire.
At Carrier Johnson + Culture we offer two regular work schedules: 8 hours/5 days per week or a 9 hours Monday thru Thursday and a 4 hour Friday. Within these hours we offer a hybrid work model of in office and remote working.
