Oversight & Direction / Business Development & Marketing Staff:

  • Oversee & evaluate the Business Development & Marketing Support Staff
  • Recruit & retain key people

Conduct Market Research: 

  • Lead a sophisticated research strategy toward a better understanding of the market place dynamics of each market sector we pursue
  • Monitor social, demographic, cultural, & economic trends for marketing implications
  • Collect information from external sources (contacts, lead services, capital plans) regarding potential teaming & business opportunities
  • Monitor industry-related lead services (IMS, BidSync, FedBizOps)
  • Develop & maintain a network of corporate, industry, government, municipal, & community contacts to keep abreast of industry, client & competitor activity (attendance at industry events, lunches/dinners, weekly business development work sessions, committee participation)
  • Research studies of markets, competitors, & client prospects (market research consultants via

Prepare Marketing Plan & Marketing Budget: 

  • Research data relevant to prospective markets for architecture, interior design, branding & graphic communications’ services (market research consultants via
  • Recommend target markets based on consultant’s research reports & market surveys
  • Create a BD/MKG plan, inclusive of net revenue goals, design objectives, implementation strategies, reporting schedules & target market criteria
  • Implement firm-wide BD/MKG plan
  • Prepare annual marketing budget in proportion to projected annual net revenue

Develop New Business / Foster Existing Client Relationships:

  • Create BD guidelines & strategies for pursuing projects (to be defined further)
  • Ascertain project opportunities within Primary Market Sectors
  • Analyze potential clients in terms of target market, project size, probability of selection, & timing
  • Screen clients, prospects & project leads via company research, intel from contacts, D&B reports
  • Establish relationships with new prospects/potential clients
  • Initiate & maintain ongoing contact with prospective clients
  • Initiate & maintain contact with current & past clients to monitor client satisfaction
  • Represent activities of marketing staff
  • Coordinate marketing efforts between disciplines & offices
