A New Gateway to Mission Bay – Jefferson Pacific Beach

Jefferson Pacific Beach-a new $103.5 million community with bayfront views in San Diego just broke ground on a nearly 3-acre site. Called “a new gateway to Mission Bay,” the project conceived by developer JPI, a leader in multifamily communities, transforms a former Cadillac dealership to make way for the project. The plans for Jefferson Pacific Beach include 172 luxury apartment homes, and 14,000 square feet of ground floor retail and creative office space.

Calling its architectural solution “innovative, leading-edge design,” JPI says the design provides for unique amenities, such as a surfboard repair/DIY station, and watersport storage space. In addition, the project includes upgrading and adding traffic signals to the Mission Bay Drive corridor with an “adaptive traffic signalization” system, allowing real-time traffic coordination for more efficient traffic flow on the busy avenue.

Jefferson Pacific Beach will soon be an iconic addition to one of San Diego’s most vibrant communities. JPI’s Western Region is in San Diego, so it goes without saying that this project has special meaning to our team,” said Todd Bowden, Senior Vice President and Managing Development Partner of JPI West. “It brings us great pride to be a part of the City’s efforts to revitalize this area of our community.”

Jefferson Pacific Beach is located directly adjacent to Mission Bay Park. Mission Bay boasts 27 miles of shoreline, 19 of which are sandy beaches with eight locations designated as official swimming areas. San Diego City Councilmember Lorie Zapf said: “Jefferson Pacific Beach will the catalyst for great improvements to the Mission Bay corridor. I look forward to watching this project break ground and offer much-needed housing in Pacific Beach.”
