The California Theatre building in Downtown San Diego was sold for $21.1M to Caydon Property Group, who are also designing the planned 41-story residential tower in partnership with Carrier Johnson + CULTURE with a reconstruction of the historic theater into a 190 key hotel at its base. The design includes careful consideration of preserving the look of the original theater exterior, as well as preserving as much of the lobby and original ornamentation as possible.
